The Darryl Strawberry vs. a possibly coked up Doc Gooden War really heated up tonight when the “Official Doc Gooden Statement” hit the BC inbox. Strawberry went to the media this weekend after Doc didn’t show up at a WFAN interview the two were supposed to do. Straw seems to believe Doc is still on the powder and doesn’t want to see his life end.
Well, Doc wasn’t just going to sit around and let that be the final word. His people released this statement today…caps and all.
Doc wasn’t done. He went after Straw via the Post Monday night and didn’t hold back. STRAW IS CHEATING? OH GOD!
“He’s trying to take the heat off himself, people who [are] in glass houses do not throw stones,” Gooden told The Post on Monday night, saying he’s been clean four years, since coming out of rehab. “He’s cheating on his wife, he’s having an affair with people.”
“… Darryl has a drug rehab in his name, he is supposed to be a pastor. I call him Lucifer. … [Going public] was a weak shot, and he did it to make himself look better, because he is running a drug rehab.”
I’m all good with this war as long as Doc doesn’t die and the Kardashians aren’t behind this and this is some sort of fake war to create buzz for some reality show after the 30 for 30 success.
There’s a perfectly good excuse why Doc missed the event.
“I locked myself inside my bedroom, and the clock started ticking, and I missed the event,” Gooden said. “I live in Jersey City, I only live 5 miles away and I told [the driver] I wanted to make my own way there, but he was yelling at me to hurry up, banging on my room door.
“I don’t miss appearances. This just happened because of a personal situation that got out of hand.”
Missed the 30 for 30? Here you go.
