To all those high school seniors or community college transfers freaking out about which college to attend — chill, it’s not that hard.
Seriously, just check out the interview Rob Gronkowski’s father, Gordon, gave to Vanity Fair about raising a family of super athletes. Rob apparently had 65 football scholarships to choose from back in the day, but he didn’t develop anxiety about making the wrong choice, he just selected the one that topped all the rest in one specific criteria: pool parties.
From Vanity Fair:
With each of my sons, when they got to the campus that was right for them, they knew right away. Rob had something like 65 scholarship offers, and I asked, “Where are you going? Syracuse? Ohio State?” He goes, “University of Arizona.” I asked, “Why there?” “Dad, if you ever went to a pool party at Arizona, you’d understand.”
So there you go kids. Make those college campus visits and the right school — or party scene — will call to you.
