STP, Flaming Lips & Butthole Surfers. Let’s just say I was young. It was easily the craziest scene I’d ever been around. I think people just parked along the country road. I remember walking through a woods and thinking my brother, who was like 19, was going to get popped for having a cooler of beer. There wasn’t even security. It was literally in the days when you could just show up at an outdoor festival like you were heading to a friend’s house. Just bring what you want situation. And then it got nuts. I remember guys throwing full cans of beer into the mosh action & guys coming out covered in blood. Good times. Weiland was a beast.
