Some people watched the Colts’ attempt at the swinging gate play a month ago and laughed hysterically. Others, however, weren’t so quick to throw that gadget play into the fire. Coastal Carolina’s coaching staff apparently falls in the latter group.
During the second quarter of tonight’s game against Liberty, Coastal Carolina attempted the ol’ swinging gate on a two-point conversion.
Shockingly, it failed and nearly turned into points for Liberty:

We’ll give the Chanticleers some credit — it looked like the receiver might’ve had a shot if, you know, the quarterback didn’t piss his pants at the sight of an unblocked defender.
