Here I was thinking early this morning that Rex Ryan has been awfully quiet this month. It’s because the guy has been running mini camps and drinkin’ beers in Jamaica.
Rex just told his team late last week to get away from football until late July when camp starts. He advised them to hit a beach and not think about the sport.
“I am getting away from it, as well. I think it’s good to get away with all the coaches and things. But you know things are never that far away from you. But I want to get away and I want everyone to get away. Then when you come back you are fresh as a daisy and you are ready to roll. The grind, you plan on working six months and maybe having two days off. Now you get away, all the coaches everyone in the building gets away. I think that’s a good thing.”
And then he hopped on a plane for Jamaica. Say what you want about Rex, but the guy will do as he says. He hits an exotic locale and gets to look at hundreds of bare feet. And drink beer. That’s gettin’ away from it all.
