I spent the weekend at Michigan International with Team Speed Stick and driver Cole Whitt, but we’ll have more on that later after I get caught up on all the work left for me by Dan the Intern. Summer interns are the worst because they always act like they want to work, but then it’s 90 and humid and they want to day drink and swim.
Can’t get them to work a full day.
That’s a horrible problem with interns these days. They want to work Monday-Friday 9:30-5. With an hour lunch. No weekends. No nights. No early mornings. Instagram breaks in the afternoon. The coddled generation is taking over.
Anyway, I was busting my ass this weekend working hard at the Quicken Loans 400 race. You know the routine: find something interesting besides the actual race, then shoot a video or take a photo. Tweet it. Throw it on IG. Vine it. Whatever. That’s work. That’s real work when it’s 110 with the humidity and it’s raining like crazy. Meanwhile I have some intern in Georgia sitting his ass next to a pool and sipping on a cold beer.
There’s something wrong with the youth of this country and it’s that they won’t get off their asses in the summer and actually work…weekends. Someone has to do it so once again I stepped up and caught Danica riding a squeegie for the Internet.
You guys continuously demand odd content so don’t bitch for at least a week or two. I’m leaving Wednesday night for a couple days off. It’s time for some of these young guys around here to step up.
