Torii Hunter, known for having awesome opinions, tried to turn back the clock Wednesday night, and attempted a straight steal of home on the Royals’ Jeremy Guthrie.
Now, Hunter is a 39-year-old veteran, so obviously if there’s a savvy player out there who knows when to take a calculated risk, it’s him, right? NOPE! As you can see in the GIF below, Hunter was thrown out rather easily — because he’s a slow dude running on a righty:

To make matters worse, the Twins had the bases loaded — with two outs — and could’ve potentially dealt a death blow to Guthrie. Instead, Guthrie has now skated through five innings despite walking six guys!
Expectedly, Twitter had some thoughts on this:
Things 39-year-olds should not do.
1) Go to the club
2) Act like a 21-year-old
3) Try to steal home like Torii Hunter just did. He was out.— Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) April 23, 2015
After being thrown out at home tonight Torii Hunter has stolen 31 bases while being caught stealing 26 times since the beginning of 2010.
