However, this was no ordinary day for Jay and his colleagues.
Faced with the task of providing filler material due to rain, “Baseball Tonight’s” Tim Kurkjian proposed the following bet to Jay: Put a 90 mph fastball in play and get a free dinner. As you can see above, Jay more than held his own, making contact on the first two pitches before unloading on the third offering.
Whether or not the pitches actually hit 90 mph is up for debate, but some of his fellow ESPN’ers were impressed:
