This time he has failed a drug test for alcohol and that will be the final straw for the Browns and their relationship with the 23 year old who just can’t stay off the bottle. Addicts need a strong support system to get them through tough times when there’s an urge to fall off the wagon. NFL wide receivers with addiction issues need a strong voice from a leader who can help them get through those tough days. Josh Gordon had Johnny Manziel, 22, in his ear. That’s like you, a recreational gambler nearing the addiction stage, inviting your buddy Kevin, who has a gambling addiction that has nearly cost him everything, to Vegas for a weekend bender.
Except Johnny Manziel teamed up with Josh Gordon in Aspen.
Did Aspen lead to the failed drug test for Gordon? We can speculate that Gordon wasn’t drinking Diet Cokes and watching Johnny and Team Texas (John’s old buddies) slam drinks in a VIP booth.

Maybe Gordon went to Aspen to have a summit with Manziel with the two figuring out how they could straighten up for 2015 and get back to the “wreck this league” plan. Or not.
It now seems that Josh Gordon’s worst drug was Johnny Manziel. The two like to party. They like to party together. There was the December party with Manziel that led to the WR being banned from the final game against Baltimore. Aspen didn’t look good. Then Manziel was destroyed on Friday in an ESPN.com story. And now the failed test from Gordon.

That was in 2012 and was bought a week before Manziel would beat Alabama and launch his legend. The car was a product of a deal Johnny had with his dad for staying out of trouble. That’s Josh Gordon’s buddy. Failure was written all over this relationship from the start. You can’t have Dumb and Dumber teaming up when one is an addict and one has been partying his ass off and in trouble since he was a high schooler when his father was trying to buy him off as a junior.
Death threats for posting Johnny Manziel travel updates
I used to get death threats on Twitter for tweeting updates on Manziel’s antics. There was a small group of Browns fans who fell for the Manziel trap and thought I was picking on Johnny with things like the rolled money photo. How do I know Browns fans are done with Manziel? They quit making death threats towards me. I haven’t been told to come to Cleveland to get my ass kicked in a couple months. That’s refreshing. Thanks, Cleveland.
Johnny Manziel helped ruin the career of his best wide receiver
The Browns had one talented wide receiver this season – Josh Gordon. Would he have stayed off the bottle if the Browns didn’t have Johnny Manziel on the roster? Maybe. Maybe not. What didn’t help was having Party Boy around a guy who had one strike until he was kicked out of the NFL.
One member of Dumb and Dumber is out of the NFL. It’s just a matter of time before Dumb is gone, too.
