We spotted suspended Yankee Alex Rodriguez out in Palo Alto, Calif. last week, but was his presence there job-related? Is A-Rod working for Stanford baseball?
Well, no. That rumor was an April Fools’ Day joke.
Of course, that won’t keep Rodriguez from spending a lot of time around Stanford (while the Bronx Bombers trot out Kelly Johnson at the hot corner).
If Stanford baseball coach Mark Marquess is actually giving any thought to letting A-Rod help, he might want to ask Al Golden about the effects the superstar’s presence had on the Miami football program this fall.

Watched the Final Four with A-Rod in Palo Alto. Is he really an assistant coach for Stanford baseball this season? pic.twitter.com/GOQtxLBcJL

Hey @AROD, saw you’re coaching at Stanford now. Feel free to stop by #StanfordInvite, if you want.
