The start of Week 10 of the NFL season begins tonight when the Carolina Panthers take on the Chicago Bears. The Thursday night matchup will pit two teams with a combined three wins against one another. While the matchup might not be a football fan’s dream, there will still be football on television. However, if you need a few reasons to tune in, we’ve got you covered. Here are the five biggest reasons to watch the Panthers and Bears.

5. Ugly Football Can Be Fun Football

Bears starting QB Justin Fields has been sidelined with a thumb injury for the past few weeks, leaving the team in the hands of rookie QB Tyson Bagent. Unfortunately, Bagent season has gone just about as good as one can expect. This past Sunday, the rookie QB threw three interceptions and was strip-sacked late in the fourth. On the flip side, the Panthers number one overall pick from 2023, Bryce Young, has also struggled in his rookie season, throwing three interceptions of his own last Sunday. Tonight’s matchup could be a great time to set ‘The Benny Hill Show’ theme music to be the background to some atrocious offensive football.

4. Gambling

If anything is going to keep you glued to the couch tonight for this matchup, it would be the fact that you tossed a little dough on this one. The Bears currently sit at three-point favorites, with the O/U currently at 38.5. However, betting responsibly is really going to come into play with this one. The Bears are 3-5-1 on the season ATS. Whereas the Panthers sit last in the league at 1-6-1 ATS. One positive if you’re looking to place a bet on tonight’s matchup: the Bears are 3-1 on the O/U when games take place at Solider Field. May the odds be ever in your favor.

3. Amazon Broadcast Team

As I’ve gotten older, it can be a real challenge for me to give anything nearly six hours of my time. This is why most pre-game shows get the skip from my end. However, Amazon has hit it out of the park with its pre-show lineup. Thompson, Whitworth, Gonzalez, Fitzmagic, Rooks, and Sherman can keep your interest even in the most mundane matchups. Also, legendary announcers Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit keep it light and are a great pairing that nobody ever saw coming. Amazon has built a team that makes an enjoyable pre-show and can keep you around for the post-show.

2. Soldier Field At Night

We often hear the term that new is always better. However, when it comes to historic sports cathedrals like Soldier Field, that statement is not the case. Rumors have been floating around for quite some time that the Bears will be getting a new robust stadium in the future. So, seeing the Bears take the field at Soldier Field could soon become a thing of the past. Before the stadium has its final dance, fans need to enjoy the moment that they have. The ways of the outdoor stadium will soon be obsolete. Enjoy it while you have it.

1. You’re A Football Degenerate

Let’s face it, you don’t need five reasons to watch tonight’s game. If you’ve managed to get this far into the story, then we already know what you are: a football degenerate. We only get so many games with the pigskin every year. We can’t let these opportunities go to waste by binge-watching shows that you can see on non-football nights. This is a new week with new opportunities. Yeah, there’s potential to see a stinker on the field of play, but that hasn’t stopped us before. There’s football to be watched, baby!
