The Steelers and Chargers squared off on Sunday night in a great game to cap off Week 11. However, Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward negatively made headlines.
Heyward gave Herbert an extra shot as the two players were on the ground after the play.

While the shot could’ve been a lot worse, Heyward wanted to send the Chargers and Herbert a message. After the game, Heyward apologized and claimed the punch didn’t have malicious intent behind it.
The Steelers were in the process of a huge 4th quarter comeback that ultimately fell short after a late Chargers touchdown.

After the game, Heyward apologized and said there was no malicious intent behind the strike.
“To be honest, I was running after the ball, and I caught my hand under, so when I was trying to get back up, I couldn’t get up, and I fell back on him,” Heyward told reporters. “I know it looks terrible, (but) there was nothing malicious behind it. I don’t think I was trying to punch him, but I know it looks worse than it is in slow motion. I’m sorry if I did anything to offend anybody.”
#Steelers DL Cam Heyward, who appeared to punch #Chargers QB Justin Herbert late in last night’s game, will have his actions reviewed for a fine, not suspension, source said. Heyward told reporters punching was not his intent and it looked worse than it was.

According to Ian Rapoport, Heyward’s actions will be reviewed for a potential fine but no suspension. The NFL tried to take the NBA’s thunder of best punch of the night, but this punch looked to have no ill-will behind it.
The Chargers ended up with the last laugh, sending the Steelers home with the loss.
