The first College Football Playoff rankings of the season were released on Tuesday night and there were plenty of eyebrows raised.
We should have expected your usual powerhouses to top the list, so when the Alabama Crimson Tide checked in at No. 2, it was disappointing but an expected move. But what about the undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats?
Well, not only was Cincinnati left out of the initial College Football Playoff picture, the Bearcats were left out of the top five and checked in at No. 6.
Plenty of people immediately called out the selection committee for disrespecting Cincinnati.

"Who has Cincinnati beaten other than Notre Dame?”
I mean, who has Michigan State beaten other than Michigan? Ohio State’s best win is apparently a Minnesota team that lost to Bowling Green. Oregon beat OSU and a 5-4 UCLA team.

What if the Committee intentionally screwing Cincinnati and Oklahoma to sell the idea that they need to expand the Playoffs pic.twitter.com/w5YyCIQj2E

The #CFBPlayoff committee on why 1 loss Alabama is #2 and AP #2 Cincinnati is #6:
“We like Cincinnati, but Alabama has a quality road loss to an SEC team. Cincinnati doesn’t have any quality losses. Neither does Michigan State or Oklahoma. That’s why we felt Alabama was #2.” pic.twitter.com/kCLlMqUMYD

This selection committee is one of the most unfair, ridiculous, stupid, despicable I've ever seen in my life. Like, you don't even HAVE UTSA ranked? You disrespect Cincinnati? What are these teams supposed to do at this point? Jesus Christ. #CFBPlayoff

The BLATANT disrespect for Cincinnati is just ridiculous! These people have no idea what they’re doing. #CFBPlayoff

However, there is some hope. If Georgia can knock off Alabama in the SEC Championship Game and chaos ensues in the Big Ten, we could see Cincinnati sliding into the final four.
