France’s Ligue 1 nearly brought the Malice at the Palace to soccer on Sunday.
During a match between Nice and Marseille at Allianz Riviera, the play was temporarily suspended when an ugly scene unfolded involving players and fans. Bottles were thrown at players and fans stormed the field before everyone was separated and order was restored.
The incident took place in the 75th minute of the game after Marseille’s Dimitri Payet was hit in the face with a bottle. Payet threw the bottle back into the stands, and chaos ensued.
Luckily, security acted quickly and stopped fans from getting the entire way onto the field or the situation could have turned even uglier.
At one point a member of the Marseille staff stepped in and punched a fanny-pack-wearing fin right in the jaw which immediately sent him to the turf.
One of the Marseille staff ran on and lumped a Nice fan ffs 🤣 pic.twitter.com/Vq0aq1rN1u

Even managers were getting involved.
Jorge Sampaoli is really wanting to throw down and knock someone out.
Marseille and now Nice squads having a real shuffle now. Basile Boli also wanting to uppercut someone.
