Jeremy Lin, who plays for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA G League, has taken to social media to publicly comment on the tragic shootings at three Atlanta area massage parlors which left 8 people dead — including six Asian women.
The shootings came at a time where there has been an increase in anti-Asian crimes across the country amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“This is sooo heartbreaking…praying for our world,” Lin wrote on Twitter.
“To my Asian American family, please take time to grieve but know you’re loved, seen and IMPORTANT. We have to keep standing up, speaking out, rallying together and fighting for change. We cannot lose hope!! #StopAsianHate #NOW.”

The NBA opened an investigation earlier this year after Lin claimed he was called “coronavirus” as a slur on the court.
Lin became the first American-born NBA player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent during his time in the NBA from 2010 to 2019. Lin averaged 11.6 points and 4.3 assists in 480 games.
Now, after spending time in the Chinese Basketball Association, Lin is looking to earn another shot in the NBA during his time in the G League bubble in Orlando, Florida.
