Klara Mrčela, a Croatian tennis player at Cleveland State University, is in her third year of collegiate tennis (I’m assuming she’s a junior, but CSU hasn’t updated her bio page) and has already racked up an impressive 46,300 Instagram followers. You guys know what I always say about leaving college with a free (or reduced price education) and a boatload of IG followers. I advise all NCAA athletes to do whatever they need to do in the IG department to lock and load by the day you receive that diploma and walk out into the real world.
Let’s be honest here, Klara in all likelihood isn’t going pro, isn’t going to make a penny off professional tennis, but you throw together a business degree and an IG account at 80k to 100k followers and you’re off and running. Becca Hunt went from just throwing up random IG pics to an Atlanta realtor that I expect will eventually have a reality show. Klara has two countries paying attention to her body of work. You go back to Croatia with nearly 100k followers and I have to assume that gets you some sort of reality TV role or two. Maybe Big Brother Croatia or something like that.
As for the tennis, Mrcela already spent several days in September playing tennis in Cancun at some invitational. I know, it must be nice. It looks like the indoor season ends in early November. Then it’s time to hit the IG content grind, build that following, maybe get a 2-3 month internship with the Cavs, do some translating, whatever. Big things are coming for Klara.
