I made sure to check in this morning with the Paulina-Dustin & Jena-Brooks Maldives vacation over on IG Story because it’s pretty much the only topic going on this week that I care about. Do I really care about the NFL overtime discussion? No. Do I care that the world’s #2 & #3 are vacationing together with their girlfriends in the Maldives? Hell yeah, because I’m sitting in garbage weather freezing like pretty much the rest of you reading this post right now. I’ve always said that it’s a good thing I don’t live somewhere warm because BC wouldn’t exist.
Anyway, in today’s Maldives Chronicles, we have Dustin Johnson hitting golf balls into the Indian Ocean and it immediately brought back memories of the infamous Seinfeld episode where George tells Jerry and Kramer about how he saved a whale from imminent death due to a golf ball — hit by Kramer — in its blowhole. Still one of the best 2 1/2 minutes in TV comedy history. How George kept a straight face through that I’ll never know. I would’ve never been able to get through the bit. Should’ve won an Academy Award. Or an Emmy.
So there’s Dustin tonight in the Maldives yoking one 400+ out into the wild depths of the Indian Ocean. Who knows where that golf ball ends up. Hopefully we don’t see a story out of the Maldives cable news channels where a whale washes up dead from a blocked blowhole. That would be tragic.
