For those who miss the good ol’ days when runners were allowed to murder catchers on the basepaths, this story is for you.
During Monday night’s Iowa State HS baseball tournament (Class 2A) game between the Denver Cyclones and Wilton Beavers, Cyclones catcher Kain Eagle was laid out in the third inning by a charging Cory Anderson.
As you can see in the above video, Eagle stepped into the running path while going for the ball, which gave Anderson the green light to drop the hit stick. Eagle reportedly left the game and was replaced after the collision:

In addition to tripling, scoring, and taking out the catcher, Anderson also closed out the game to advance his team to the semis. He had a productive night, to say the least.
Sidenote: Anderson’s MaxPreps profile notes he also plays football, which obviously checks out.
