Kirk Cousins had him a Pure Michigan 4th of July of sucking in the pure air, watching water bounce along the shoreline and commanding the grill like thousands of ordinary white men all around Michigan did on Wednesday. The big news here from Kirk is that he wasn’t using foil to grill his meat like he was back in January for some strange reason.
And he was doing that on a Weber grill. Guess what Weber thinks about grilling on foil? This is from the Weber grilling site:
There’s an outdated (and potentially dangerous) practice that promoted cleaning cooking grates by laying aluminum foil on the grates, turning the grill to high, and letting it run for a while. This is a major NO-NO. Laying the foil on the grates can restrict the intended air flow inside the grill, which could lead to damage of the internal components, not to mention create a dangerous situation.
I’m not a grilling expert so I can’t tell you what he was grilling on the 4th, but Vikings fans can rest easy knowing he’s not using foil these days. We’re talking about a 3-year, $84M guy here. Someone at Weber is missing out on a marketing move right here. Get the team out there and teach this guy how to grill. As one guy on IG said, it looks like he’s grilling up Snickers bars.
