Richie Incognito’s bizarre offseason continued Wednesday when he was detained at a Florida gym for allegedly throwing a tennis ball and dumbbell at another gymgoer. He was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold and a police report tweeted out by Andy Slater reveals why: not only was Incognito a little violent, he told an officer he was under contract by the government and “running NSA class level 3 documents” through his phone.
NEW DETAILS: Richie Incognito thought government officials were tracking and recording him, police say. Full report below. pic.twitter.com/CQEsCMBeJf

Officer Rosenthal and I met with Incognito in the outdoor pool area. I asked Incognito to tell me what was going on. Incognito stated he was just training and that “There’s a guy walking around with headphones on. I’m running NSA class level 3 documents through my phone. I can’t have anybody in blue tooth capability of me or taking pictures of me.” I asked Incognito to tell me about his phone and the governments involvement but he told me he couldn’t talk about it because he was under contract and asked who I was under contract with. When I asked why the government was trying to watch him Incognito told me I didn’t have high enough clearance. It should be noted Incognito’s speech pattern was very erratic and he would suddenly change the subject matter to something different
The report goes on to say an investigation found Incognito was “suffering an altered, paranoid state” and believed ordinary people were government agents tracking him.
The gymgoer, Mark O’Brien, called 911 and told police Incognito repeatedly threw things at him and that he was just trying to work out before the former Bill flipped on him. You can listen to the call in the video below:

Incognito has made headlines this offseason for firing his agents on Twitter, both retiring and unretiring, and getting cut by the Bills to pursue work elsewhere.
