Jay Bilas Was Soooooo Positive That Sean Miller Was Clean

No, it is not. I know Sean Miller to be a man of great honesty and integrity. I don't believe for a second he knew of any improper behavior.

Here we goooooo with the Wayback Machine kicking in and taking a look back at how some of the pundits out there are handling the Sean Miller situation at Arizona. First up, Jay Bilas and his thoughts back in September on how Sean Miller handles his business.

Folks, don’t forget that you don’t really know your favorite athletes, your favorite coaches, your brothers and sisters. You might know of a coach as a man of integrity because that coach wants you to know him as a man of integrity. Unless it’s Tebow, be wary.

I once heard a story about a MLB player that everyone thinks is clean as a 10-year old Buick owned by an 80 year old. We’ve always been told that the guy is the gold standard in how to live life. Then, as the story goes & coming straight from the source, the guy is one of the bigger dirtbags at a strip club.

Anyway, Jay might end up wanting that tweet back.

Here’s what ESPN reported Friday night about Miller:

FBI wiretaps intercepted telephone conversations between Arizona coach Sean Miller and Christian Dawkins, a key figure in the FBI’s investigation into college basketball corruption, in which Miller discussed paying $100,000 to ensure star freshman Deandre Ayton signed with the Wildcats, sources familiar with the government’s evidence told ESPN.

According to people with knowledge of the FBI investigation, Miller and Dawkins, a runner working for ASM Sports agent Andy Miller, had multiple conversations about Ayton. When Dawkins asked Sean Miller if he should work with assistant coach Emanuel “Book” Richardson to finalize their agreement, Miller told Dawkins he should deal directly with him when it came to money, the sources said.

Dickie V. was also a believer. Imagine that.

FWIW: If you're keeping score, both Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale have publicly vouched for Sean Miller's integrity in the last 24 hours.

Sean Miller can get his cash under his contract but you can’t buy a REPUTATION / you earn it / U must look in the mirror & I guarantee you / he doesn’t like what he sees / I am so surprised as I was a big Sean Miller believer ! https://t.co/bzQlhH72qk

Let’s go back and check in with some other basketball experts:

No way Sean Miller knew what Richardson was doing; no way. Miller loves the game too much, has integrity and would not engage.@abballwidow https://t.co/WdLdZjVvC0
