Canadian HS Teacher Allegedly Had Relationship With Male Student, Hit With Sexual Assault Charges

Canadian high school teacher Marianna Riossi is facing multiple sexual assault charges for having an improper relationship with a male student.

Riossi, 28, is a supply (substitute) teacher with the York District Catholic School Board. She was working for St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS at the time of the alleged misconduct — more details from The Toronto Sun:

Police received a tip that the pretty brunette — whose Facebook page lists her as “in a relationship” — was embroiled in the torrid affair.

It’s alleged the Vaughn woman was involved with the student between October and December of last year. Her profile claimed she was employed at St. Theresa of Lisieux, in Richmond Hill.

“These allegations are certainly upsetting for YCDSB,” board spokesman Sonia Gallo said in a statement. “We take very seriously our responsibility to ensure a safe and respectful working and learning environment for all our students and staff.

“Ms. Riossi was immediately removed from her teaching assignment, and is currently on leave, as per board practice.”

Detectives would not reveal which school the alleged victim attends.

We suppose getting placed on paid leave is a small victory for Marianna. We’ve done a slew of these disgraced teacher stories over the past year and they’re usually either fired or resign immediately. It’s worth noting her Rate My Teacher page profile, which has some glowing reviews, says she’s now a “retired art teacher.”
