As you can see above, Austin Rivers had the best game of his season last night against the Utah Jazz. Playing with DeAndre Jordan, who’s got one foot out the door already, and without Blake Griffin, it makes sense that Austin gets those leftover numbers. He put up a season-high 25 with 6 assists and he was feeling himself because the real highlight of the night came from his exchange with this courtside fan.
You have to assume this fan was in his ear all night. It was late in the 4th and this guy was probably 7-8 drinks deep by that point. Rivers finally had enough and kept it about as real you can, telling him he’d “slap the shit out of him”.
I don’t hate this move one bit.

One problem: I’m not sure how well the Commissioner’s office will take one of their players threatening a fan. I’m always here for the player-fan shit talking, but get ready to break that wallet out.
At least it was a happy ending
#Clippers' Austin Rivers on exchange with fan – 'He was being a fairweather a** fan. He was talking sh** about the team, but he was cheering the first half.'
Rivers then added that he went to apologize and shook hands with the fan after the game. The fan apologized as well.
