What’s the word in Pittsburgh today? Oh, nothing too crazy. Just Pirates fans freaking out over Starling Marte’s 80-game PED suspension:
Starling Marte hit with an 80-game suspension after testing positive for Nandrolone. That's an old-school steroid. No designer drug there.

This is a considerable hit considering Marte was handed centerfield duties from Andrew McCutchen during the offseason; now the Bucs are without him for half the season. But with Marte out for a while, everyone is getting all sorts of excited for what may come next: the call-up of top outfield prospect Austin Meadows.
Austin Meadows, OF, Grade B+/A-: Age 21, first round pick in 2013; hit .266/.333/.536 with 12 homers, 17 steals, 33 walks, 67 strikeouts in 308 at-bats between Double-A and Triple-A; continues to struggle with nagging injuries particularly his legs; when healthy, demonstrates power, speed, a solid hitting approach, excellent defensive instincts, and major league makeup; could be similar to Andy Van Slyke with a bit more power and a bit less speed. ETA 2017.
No word yet on if Austin, who is slashing .162/.220/.270 in AAA right now (small sample), is getting the call, but we figured we’d introduce you guys to him… and girlfriend Alexis Wilson.
