Michigan Newspapers Run “Lions Roped by Cowboys” Headline a Week Too Early

The Lions losing to the Giants on Sunday is clearly old news, because Michigan newspapers from the future have already dropped results from next week’s “Monday Night Football” matchup between the Lions and Cowboys.

Sorry, Lions fans — it looks like your squad is choking the division lead with their second straight loss:

In the old days, this kind of nightmare front page headline error would cause publishers to order papers pulled out of newspaper boxes… pic.twitter.com/C5oQinteUq

Of course, this is just an honest error on MLive’s part, but yeah, we all know the Lions stealing a win in Dallas is unlikely. These papers can just run their savvy headline again next Monday and just swap out the photo and copy.

Today in newspaper budget cuts: the @Lions got "roped" by the @Giants yesterday, not the @dallascowboys.#CopyEditorsStillMatter pic.twitter.com/1kfLtrzeFX
