One night, two ladies over 100 years old throwing out first pitches at Major League Baseball games. I’m not sure if it was a coincidence or if we had a battle on our hands to see who threw a better pitch. Most likely a coincidence, but I’m going to pretend it was a battle. Let’s take a look.
First, a lady named Cora Purcell who turned 104 this week, throwing out the first pitch at the Orioles game.

Then, later on that day we had 108 (!) year old Evelyn Jones throwing out the first pitch in Seattle.

This is a tough one because if they were the same age Cora would blow Evelyn out of the damn water. I mean Cora actually threw the ball, while Evelyn basically just handed hers to Felix Hernandez. But, they aren’t the same age so I have to judge this on a curve. Evelyn is 4 years older than Cora and a 4 year gap when you’re over 100 might as well be a 15 year gap. So I gotta give this one to Evelyn. She barely threw the ball, but the age gap gives her the edge.
