Drew Brees is one of the NFL’s few model citizens — no murder charges, no DWIs or assault raps for the Saints QB, just good clean living … until he hangs with Matthew McConaughey, Brad Pitt and Kenny Chesney, then it’s “beer me, bro” and shots, shots, shots.”
McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves hung out with Brees in New Orleans this weekend. During an afternoon chill session on Saturday, they realized that McConaughey’s neighbor across the street was Brad Pitt.
“Ohai, Brad Pitt…” When Pitt tossed them a Coors Light NOLA Hopitoulas IPA (h/t @JuanScroates) from his balcony, Brees didn’t drink it because it looks like he was holding down a can of something else (see below).
It sure looks like an Abita Amber can to us. Let that settle: the Oscar-winning bro from Texas is downing light beer while Brees goes up the ladder. Maybe there is something to those Brees-Manziel comparisons after all.

Of course, Brees being Brees means that there was a charitable reason for his social drinking: a charity gala and concert by Kenny Chesney at the House of Blues to support the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation and the Brees Dream Foundation.
As you can see above, Brees, McConaughey and Chesney did a shot on stage. Later, actress Reese Witherspoon dropped $27K to sing with Chesney on-stage. As you can see in the pic at the bottom of the post, other stars were in attendance, too.

It’s nice to see Brees letting loose a little bit. This is the sort of adult beverage-fueled leadership that makes mortals into legends (Super Bowl wins and all-time records help, too).
