Daughter: My Mom Used To Bang Bears QB

Bob Avellini

In the long history of the Chicago Bears, several interesting characters have played quarterback for the team, including Sid Luckman, Jim McMahon, Jim Harbaugh and Jay Cutler.

But, does anyone other than die-hard Bears’ fans remember Bob Avellini?

One young woman claims her mom does:

So there you have it.

Avellini hasn’t had a great year: he was indicted on felony drunken driving charges in October just days after being convicted on a 2012 drunken driving charge. He also filed for bankruptcy protection in 2012, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Avellini started 50 games for the Bears from 1975 to 1984, including all of the team’s contests in 1977. His most important job was to hand off to Walter Payton, who won the NFL MVP in ’77 with a league- and career-high 1,852 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.

Among Avellini’s closest career comparisons on Pro Football Reference are Rick Mirer, Rich Gannon, Jeff Hostetler, Tim Couch…and Mark Sanchez.

Sounds about right.

Yes, that's my real name.
