Temperamental Cowboys’ wide receiver Dez Bryant has a tenuous relationship with citizens of Dallas. He may have just improved his standing with them in the coolest way possible for five gamers.
Bryant was at a Dallas-area WalMart for Friday’s midnight release of the Sony PlayStation 4. When Bryant saw six gamers waiting in line for the PS4, he decided to buy their system for them.
Each console has a retail value of $399.99. That means Bryant spent $2,400 for strangers to call off work today (and pump their $399 into cheese curls and energy drinks). If there’s any justice, one of these gamers will name his kid Dez someday.
Best part: The only reason we know about it is because of social media. This wasn’t Bryant agreeing to do something kind for good press (though, god knows, he needs it).
And, Bryant won’t miss any Friday walk-throughs because of his new PS4. The Cowboys have a bye this week. Their next game is Nov. 24 against the Giants at the Meadowlands.
Damn, @DezBryant just bought whoever was in line at a Walmart in Dallas a PS4.
