Taylor, the Fox Sports Girl of the Week, believes the two-quarterback system Lane Kiffin will be using Saturday night when USC faces Washington State at 10:30 ET on Fox Sports 1 will work itself out.
“Both of the USC quarterbacks are capable of leading the team, but they also possess very different skill sets. Coach Kiffin will decide on one when the time is right, or perhaps splitting time will work so well that we will start seeing every college football team with two quarterbacks.,” she said during our interview.
And Taylor knows what she’s talking about when it comes to football. She’s been watching USC since she was five when her parents took her to games and she became fascinated with the Song Girls.
She’ll be at the Coliseum bright and early Saturday as Fox College Saturday will broadcast live outside the stadium beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET.
Who is your favorite athlete?
I would really love to pick Victor Cruz because of his killer salsa touchdown dance, but I am going to have to go with Blake Griffin, he has really helped turn the Clippers organization around and I look forward to another exciting season with Lob City.
What is your best sports memory?
The SWEET, sweet win against the UCLA Bruins, when they ventured to our side of town and the Trojans won the game 50-0!
What sport would you play professionally if you could, and why?
Being a dancer my whole life, I have always loved to watch the gymnasts at the Olympics so if I could pick one sport to be a part of, professional Gymnastics would be it!! I love the creativity, artistry, and athleticism that it takes to be a gymnast of that caliber.
What’s your earliest memory of being a USC fan?
My earliest memory of being a USC fan would have to be when my parents would take me to games when I was 5 years old. All I can remember doing is following the Song Girls as they marched into the Coliseum and I was completely mesmerized by them the entire game, I had no clue a football game was going on.
What’s the best assignment you’ve worked as a Fox Sports Girl?
The best assignment I have worked thus far would have to be the Fox Sports Girls Road To Launch bus tour! I was able to meet the girls from other regions for the first time, go to places I have never been like the Alamo and try some awesome Tex Mex food, and explore different ballparks and stadiums, the DBacks have a pool in the ballpark WHAT! We had so much fun as a group and it was really an experience I will always remember!
What do you think of this split playing time situation for the Trojans? Should Lane settle on one guy at this point?
Both of the USC quarterbacks are capable of leading the team, but they also possess very different skill sets. Coach Kiffin will decide on one when the time is right, or perhaps splitting time will work so well that we will start seeing every college football team with two quarterbacks.
What Trojans player should we be following on Twitter?
Two of my favorite USC players to follow on Twitter are Devon Kennard (@DevonKennard42) and Randall Telfer (@RandallTelfer). Devon is great for daily inspirations and team updates. Randall is pure comedy and gives you a good laugh!
The Fox College Saturday show will be live this week outside the Coliseum at 7:30 a.m. PT. Will USC students be up that early?
I am not going to lie that is an early wake up call for a game day, but USC students are dedicated and die hard fans and we will be sure that the first stop for Fox College Saturday is the BEST. We stand behind our team any day, any time!
What do the Fox Sports West Girls have planned for fans on Saturday?
The FOX College Saturday Tour will kick off this weekend. We will be on-site to meet all the fans, try out the interactive games, take photos and more. I encourage everyone to come and visit us and get some good giveaways!
Song Girls: Should they scrap the sweaters and go with a more modern look?
This is a question that the USC Song Girls are faced with every football season. As a former USC Song Girl, I will have to say that the Song Girls should 100% stay with white sweaters. It is a huge part of the USC tradition and allows the girls to stand out from all other College Football dance/ cheer teams.
