Weddings can be a shit show: relatives, green beans almondine and a bunch of women no one wants to marry dancing to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” prior to the bouquet toss.
Every once in a while, though, a newlywed couple will do something fun, like having a custom Yao Ming groom’s cake.
Jacqui Vivanco and Mike Hertlein commissioned Charm City Cakes — the Baltimore bakery behind the Food Network’s “Ace of Cakes” show — to sculpt an awesome and (presumably) delicious groom’s cake in the likeness of former Houston Rockets’ center Yao Ming for their wedding.
From the images below, it looks like cake Yao has a moist chocolate center under layers of buttercream and fondant.
Between this Yao cake and signing Dwight Howard, the Rockets fan base has something to cheer about for the first time since sweeping the Magic in the 1995 NBA Finals.
