Pathetic Mets Make Three Throwing Errors On One Play, Get Walk-Off Win Anyway [VIDEO]

Mets Throwing Errors 1
In the fifth inning of Sunday’s Mets-Cubs game at Citi Field, New York third baseman David Wright made a great diving stop of Alfonso Soriano’s smash with runners on first and second. That’s when it got crazy.

Wow. David Wright with a fine diving stop, then #Mets make not one, not two, but THREE errant throws on the same play. Two runs score.

Wright overthrew first baseman David Murphy, who tracked the ball down and threw wide of home as Starlin Castro attempted to score. Then, as Nate Schierholtz bolted for home on Murphy’s overthrow, shortstop Omar Quintanilla made a third errant throw past home that allowed Soriano to advance to third base after the dust cleared. Watch the ridiculous play here.

You can also see screen caps at the bottom of the post (thanks, BAM). All of the bed-shitting happened with #VoteMets chalked on the field behind home plate in sarcastic satire. This is why Mets fans drink.

However, Kirk Nieuwenhuis came through with a three-run walk-off homer in the ninth to give the Mets the victory, 4-3. You can see his game-winning shot in the video below:
