Indiana dropped Sunday’s Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals to the Miami Heat, 114-96. The Pacers were just about out of the game at halftime, trailing 70-56 thanks to Miami’s second-quarter spurt. While Pacers’ center Roy Hibbert had 20 points and 17 rebounds for the game, he was literally absent as the Heat increased its lead in the first half.
Was this another Frank Vogel brain fart?
Nope. Hibbert was in the bathroom, according to Pacers’ PR via Bob Kravitz of the Indy Star. Here’s how the drama unfolded on Twitter:
Neither Kravitz, nor anyone else, has gotten the No.1 or No. 2 question answered yet. Here’s a clip of Hibbert’s presser.
Hibbert’s bathroom break didn’t cost the Pacers the game, but it didn’t help them either. Miami’s Udonis Haslem scored 17 big points that hurt Indiana and made them pay for packing in the defense to guard against LeBron James’ revisited post game. Still, the Pacers have to hope Hibbert is more regular for Game 4, otherwise they could shit the bed again.
