Fox Sports 1 debuts in August and the executives building the station have been busy lining up what should be a competitive sideline/studio lineup of ladies to compete directly with the ESPN Goliath. Those hired so far include: Charissa Thompson, Molly McGrath and Julie Stewart-Binks.
They join Erin Andrews to form the FS1 “Blonde Mafia.”
The plan for FS1, to launch August 17, is to be a 24-hour sports network that’ll be available in 90 million homes, will feature content from across the Fox Sports family and will go head-to-head with ESPN for viewership.
Whereas NBC Network (Michelle Beadle) and CBS Sports (can’t name a single high-profile woman working there) don’t have the firepower to compete with ESPN, Fox seems well positioned in the blonde department.
