Legendary closer Mariano Rivera and the New York Yankees are in Kansas City this weekend for the first time since Rivera tore his ACL while shagging fly balls in batting practice at Kauffman Stadium last May. Someone had a little fun with Rivera on Friday.
During the pre-game warm-ups, when Rivera reached the same spot on the warning track where he hurt his knee, someone had hung a sign declaring it a “No Mo Zone” and painted a chalk outline of Rivera’s body.
Mariano Rivera just wandered out to the chalk outline of a body on the warning track. He laughed and returned to shagging fly balls.

Rivera has returned from the injury to his dominant self; he’s 0-0 with a 1.88 ERA and 13 saves in 15 appearances this season and the injury-riddled Yankees are in first place.
