In early contention for MLB superfan of the year is this man, the Oakland A’s leprechaun. The guy is a bit mysterious and doesn’t receive nearly as much attention as many superfans across sports do. Hey, I guess that’s what happens when you’re in Oakland.
You’d immediately assume he’s a burnout hippie bro slumming it in some Haight-Ashbury dive bar. Wrong.
His name is Kerry Fahey and he resides in Southern California. He only makes a few trips up to Oakland each year so he makes the most out of each and every A’s game.
He ended the interview with this gem:
I haven’t had a lot of luck in my own life. Just that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but you know that’s not lucky, everybody’s after you all the time.
