Renaldo Balkman, now playing in the Philippine Basketball Association, lost it last night and ended up shoving and choking his own teammate. This wasn’t at practice, this was during a game.
This has to be one of the biggest meltdowns we’ve seen in professional sports in a long time. According to the YouTube uploader:
With less than a minute left, Petron about to lose the game when Balkman tried to appeal his case to the officials then this happened.
It’s one thing to choke an opponent, but to shove multiple teammates and then put your hands around another’s throat?! Should be an interesting atmosphere at practice today to say the least.
His name will still give any Knicks fan chills. He’ll always be remembered as the guy who they took the pick before Rajon Rondo was chosen. His career was nothing short of a joke, and now it got even worse.
UPDATE: Balkman sent out an apologetic tweet moments ago. We’re not buying it.
