Vitale, 73, is apparently fine, but he allegedly suffered a cut to his face. The loud, longtime college basketball analyst text messaged ESPN that he was ok.

Perhaps he was blinded by Michigan’s BRIGHT YELLOW JESREYS (there, they call it maize).

It was announced earlier today that Vitale will call 2013 Final Four games and the national title contest for ESPN International. The international arm of the WWL broadcasts to 150 countries in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Canada.

Update: Yeah, he’s OK.
