Florida Pee Wee Football Gambling Ring Busted! [Cuff ‘Em]

Like we’re surprised guys in Florida were gambling on pee wee football games. We’re talking about coaches betting against the opposing teams. In Florida. Betting in a barbershop that didn’t really exist. Oh, and ESPN helped bust this operation.

According to the Sun-Sentinel:

The Broward Sheriff’s Office conducted “Operation Dirty Play” with Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill police, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Fort Lauderdale police began surveillance in 2011 to end the betting and drinking, drug use and fighting that a police spokesman said was happening at pee wee games at the time.

Illegal bets were made on pro sporting events at Red Carpet Kutz barber shop in Lauderhill, BSO said.

The shop did not offer shaves or trims, and instead served as a front for gambling stations behind dark tinted windows, according to the agency.

Don’t blame these guys a bit. You ever tried to sit through a kids’ football game? The only way to make it more interesting is by creating gambling lines. Over/Unders. Halftime lines.

The shocking part of this story is that the fathers were even in the lives of the boys to begin with.
