Remember the Mother’s Day umpire video that “blew up” the Internet a couple weeks ago and was discovered by Busted Coverage? Yeah, well it seems we have another umpire that’s just a day or so away from fame on SportsCenter, the front page of Yahoo, sites like Reddit, the Daily Mail, etc. Say hello to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Umpire. How can’t this guy be the newest Internet umpire celebrity with a strike three looking call like this?

Premise of Video: Crandall Cubs vs Kaufman Snipers 14U baseball game in Kaufman, Texas. We’re talking about a city of just 6,700 that is 36 miles from Dallas. There’s like one junky Best Western in this outpost. Not exactly the place we’d expect to find our new Internet umpire hero dropping Anderson Silva chops.
Climax of Video: Just look at that footwork. Years of practicing in the mirror.
Conclusion: Look, you little brats, it’s time to start protecting the plate. Sure, the pitch looked low and outside but if umpires let you stand up there with Barry Bonds’ eyes we’d be waiting days for these stupid games to end. And kudos to these umps for spicing up the strikeout call for the parents forced to sit through 6 or 7 innings. Would be hard not to root for our kid to strikeout looking at least once a game.
