It’s one of the more cryptic famous eBay listings we’ve come across over the the last three months. The listing, via Ryan P. at Beverly Hills Porsche, won’t name David Beckham directly, but a Google search reveals that this 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet used to belong to the washed up MLS stud.
Known around Beverly Hills as the Batmobile, it originally sold this summer for $227,000 to some Middle Eastern movie legend.
TMZ has learned … the guy who made the winning bid is actor/model Adam Sabbagh … a former “Mr. Arab 2008” who just finished shooting the horror flick “Mansion of Blood” with Gary Busey.
Sabbagh’s rep tells TMZ the actor “found love” when he first laid eyes on the car and is “loving the smooth ride around his new home in Beverly Hills.”
Beckham famously put the car up for sale earlier this year … after reportedly spending $100k to personalize it with cool things like his #23 emblazoned on the hood and on the seats … as well as custom deck lid, rims and steering wheel.
For some reason the ride is back on the market and the current bid is only $55,000. Ironically, the reserve has not been met.
Maybe this car needs a change of scenery. Maybe it’s too celebrity for Hollywood. Maybe the interior needs a facelift. Maybe the Middle Eastern Mr. Arab guy had trouble making payments. Maybe he figured out that American chicks didn’t know who David Beckham was.
So many questions. Just three days to bid.
