We’re continually amazed by parents who take sports so seriously. The TULSA WORLD provides the mixed martial arts details of a high school parent-coach fight that led to an arrest and a busted up coach. Coach Mickey Duncan had just led his team to a victory in the Oklahoma girls’ playoffs when the ‘W’ turned sour.
“Apparently the game was over and they were celebrating their win, and coach Duncan was walking out of the gym into the lobby,” Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes told the World.
“All of a sudden, Abbott comes up to him and says something to him about his daughter,” Clabes said. “At that point then Abbott grabs him around the throat and throws him to the ground.”
The coach ended up suffering a dislocated elbow and marks on his throat and right bicep. Meanwhile, his team is now out of the Oklahoma playoffs after last night’s disappointing loss.
