What do you do when the NFL commissioner makes you take a year off from football for a scandal? If you are Sean Payton, you go to the New Orleans House of Blues and walk on stage to perform for the crowd. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals lead off the concert according to Deadspin and then Payton played keyboard. Payton said he would coach his son's football team this year but it looks like we'll be seeing him having some fun. JUMP!
The Tuscaloosa News had a little bit of trouble with their headline for their girl's softball story today. The writer, which we are just going to assume is a University of Alabama graduate, spelled 'handcuff' as 'hancuff'. You would think they would have spell check or an editor. Maybe the guy was just so upset that the Gators are gaining ground on the Crimson Tide in a women's athletic event that it was just an emotional mistake. Who knows? HT @OurHonorDefend. JUMP!
Great Attack, a horse racing in the Twin Spires Turf Sprint, was tied for last place at the beginning of a 5 furlong turf. Joel Rosario, the horse's jockey, rode right through the middle of the pack of horses and challenged the lead horse for the win. Bridgetown looked to have the race in hand for most of the race and blew it to Great Attack. Make sure you go to the liquor store and stock up on bourbon for your mint juleps tonight for the Kentucky Derby. JUMP!
Bryce Harper, the Washington Nationals rookie, got his first hit of his Major League Baseball career off of a Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher for a double. Some Dodgers fans decided to moon, not only their pitcher, but also Bryce Harper. Yeah, it doesn't make sense to moon your own pitcher but the kids look pretty young. This may be the best rookie troll move of all time. We enhanced the image after the JUMP!
This is why you never leave your star players on the court when the game is in hand. Derrick Rose went down with an injury to what looked like his knee after falling awkwardly on it. The Chicago Bulls took on the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs where the Bulls pulled out the win. We'll see if Derrick Rose is able to return for Game 2 or if this will effect this series or series to come. HT Deadspin JUMP!
The Washington Redskins held an introductory press conference for the 2nd overall pick in the NFL Draft today for Robert Griffin III. The former Baylor Bear and Heisman trophy winner walked up on stage and then this screen went up that just read "Video Lock Error Ident Mode" on the NFL Network. The feed was not able to be resurrected and anything RGIII had to say was only heard by the people in the room. JUMP!
Russell Wilson was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL Draft last night and his wife Ashton Wilson stole the spotlight by getting SUPER PSYCHED as you can see. First of all that white phone Russell is using is ridiculous. Who still uses this shit? Ashton, @1AshtonWilson, not only reacted ridiculous when her husband was drafted, but was holding her little dog. Don't worry guys, we were able to track down pictures of this WAG from her Twitter account. JUMP!
The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Oklahoma City Thunder today where some 'extracurricular' activity happened during the game. Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, elbowed James Harden in the face in completely violent fashion. Of course, Metta World Peace pretended like nothing happened while Harden layed on the ground in obvious pain. I'm sure David Stern is going to take a look at this play and possible hand out some punishments. JUMP!
We are all familiar with the insane and most of the time indecipherable Twitter feed of @JoseCanseco. Things got even more weird when Canseco took to Twitter to try and find some girls to date. The responses to Canseco's tweet are absolutely hilarious. It's mostly girls responding with "BLOCKED" or "You're Crazy". I highly suggest you follow this feed for the humor and the education of what steroids can do to a person. JUMP!
DJ Steve Porter has made some great mixes for ESPN (like the Randy Moss' "One Clap" video) and this one is no different. DJ Steve Porter just came out with one for the 2012 NFL Draft and it did not disappoint. The draft this year starts this Thursday and it looks like the first pick is already locked up with the Indianapolis Colts picking Andrew Luck to replace Peyton Manning. JUMP!
The Mississippi State Bulldogs will only play on 60 yards of field for their 2012 spring game because they decided it was more important to build a stage for a band to perform on. MSU decided to give up 40 yards of field space for a country music band named Sugarland to play on. Dan Mullen doesn't have much to work with to display his team's ability for his spring game. Grind for your state MSU! HT @stricklinMSU JUMP!
Manning Way is a street in Oxford, Mississippi that was named after the Ole Miss Rebel quarterback Archie Manning. The speed limit used to be 18 mph in honor of Archie's number. Well now that there is a new Manning and former rebel and current New York Giants quarterback winning Superbowls, the speed limit has been changed to Eli Manning's number 10. I doubt Ole Miss fans will feel too bad about going 8 mph slower than usual. HT CFBSection JUMP!
Miami Heat president Pat Riley just sold his 80,000 square foot mansion for $16.75 million dollars. Not only does it overlook beautiful Biscayne Bay but it has one of the most unbelievable pools we've ever seen. This two story house is basically perfect for a guy. Not only does it come with a 103 inch plasma television, but it has it's own private beach with sand. JUMP!
The Miami Marlins finally hit a homerun in their new stadium so you know what that means. This awkward structure of random Miami things got animated and water shot out of it. Omar Infante was the lucky Miami Marlin to nail the homerun in their new stadium. More Marlins memorabilia has been sold since the stadium opened than in the last 3 years combined. The video after the JUMP!
Saturday was the South Carolina Gamecock spring game where Steve Spurrier lead his team on the field to show his fans what is in store for the fall. Of course the good people of South Carolina had to tailgate this event and with tailgating comes antics like this. A Gamecock fan got a hold of a microphone and a an amplifier and decided to sing the national anthem IN THE VOICE OF A ROOSTER. Listen to the video. It's.... interesting. JUMP!
That is the University of Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel with his smoking hot cheerleader girlfriend @TarinMoses in Auburn, Alabama. They are getting ready for one of the biggest annual rodeos in America that is this weekend. Jeff Driskel is competing for the starting QB job with Jacoby Brissett on Muschamp's squad. They are definitely dressed for the rodeo and look to have a good time. They should fit in just fine! JUMP!
