Buy Niklas Backstrom’s Minnesota Home — $1.84 Million

If anyone out there is looking for a new home in Minnesota, former Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom is currently trying to sell his pad in Edina for $1.84 million.
Backstrom, of course, spent his entire NHL career in Minnesota before getting traded to the Calgary Flames last month. He hasn’t played in a game for over a year, but he’s still getting paid $4 million this year to chill.
According to public records, the home was purchased back in 2013 for $1.66 million, so Niklas is trying to make some change here.
Details from the realtor:

High demand east Edina in prime Sunnyslope neighborhood! This 2013 built home offers a top of the line kitchen with custom woodwork and Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, a luxurious master suite with spacious walk-in closet, gorgeous wood accents and unmatched tile detail. The four additional bedrooms all feature en suites to maximize privacy. Lower level Finnish sauna, game area and exercise room. High end home audio system and custom blue stone patio. Walk to 50th and France, Wooddale Park and Edina CC.

No pool, but if you’re looking for a home in Minnesota, we’re assuming that isn’t a huge deal.

Additional details of Niklas’ home:

  • 5 beds/ 7 baths/ 5,050 sqft
  • 4 miles from Whole Foods
  • 8.4 miles from Downtown Cabaret
