By the late 1970’s, snowboarding began to become a real sport with a true following. It started off as surfing on snow and the original snowboard was called a Snurfer because it allowed you to surf on snow. It wasn’t until the late 80’s that the sport exploded into the phenomenon it is today.
ESPN started the Winter X-Games back in 1996 where we quickly learned just how amazing snowboarding has become since the idea for surfing on snow surfaced back in the 60’s. But it wasn’t until 2002 that ESPN started to air the games on television.
It did not take too long for women to completely take over the sport.
Besides being incredibly talented, a lot of the female snowboarders are the sexiest you have seen of any winter sport.
