Desperately in need of some college basketball material to get you through the October lull? If so, perhaps you may want to get your hands on, “Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen,” which was written by Louisville stripper and escort Katina Powell.
Powell claims in the book that a former Louisville basketball staffer (and current University of Missouri- Kansas City assistant coach) by the name of Andre McGee hired her to woo recruits.
Some details from Yahoo’s Pat Forde, who received an advanced copy:

The book alleges: “At the peak of the dormitory and off-campus entertainment more than $10,000 cash changed hands to Katina for supplying the women. This does not include the hundreds of one dollar bills thrown at the dancers at each party by McGee, the recruits and players. Nor does it include the money paid to the women who had sex with the recruits afterward. So frequent were the escapades that Katina would later say, especially after the Cardinals won the 2012-2013 NCAA championship: I felt like I was part of the recruitment team. A lot of them players went to Louisville because of me.”

The Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ) tweeted out the photo below of a player receiving said benefits:

Powell gave an interview to the IBJ and stated that she wrote this book partly to make money (shocker):

In an interview with IBJ, Powell admitted that part of the reason she is doing the book is to make money. Powell will receive 10 percent of the book’s sales, according to her and IBJ Book Publishing officials.
“She gets 10 percent commission of the gross, not net. That’s a big difference,” said Michael Maurer, co-owner of IBJ Media and IBJ Book Publishing. “That seemed like a fair arrangement.”

And to tell the scandalous story of how colleges land recruits:

“I decided to write the book to tell my story and to let people know what goes on inside of college basketball … and how they get their new recruits,” Powell said. “It’s important for people to know … how young kids are persuaded to do certain things by sex, drugs and alcohol.”

The IBJ states that the book could be released Saturday.
