I’ve seen better.
This guy’s full name is D’HAQUILLE WILLIAMS. You might hear him called Duke Williams. He’s listed at 6-2, 216 and is about to become a big name SEC wide receiver. The guy is a junior college transfer who hasn’t played a down for Auburn and was voted to Phil Steele’s third team all-SEC team. Let that soak in for a minute.
Williams, who has not been available for interviews, gives Auburn’s quarterbacks another big target to aim for. The 6-foot-2 216 pound LaPlace, Louisiana native had five catches for 88 yards and a touchdown on A-Day, giving fans an idea of what could be in store this fall.
“He’s going to move around. Everybody’s moving around,” Coates said. “You can’t just lock in on that guy playing the inside because you don’t know if he’s going to play inside the next play. The way we move around, it’s kind of hard to pick out who you’re going to cover and try to double-team.”
If you need a size comparable for Williams, you can look at Julio Jones who is listed at 6-3, 220. If you need a GameDay sign angle, Williams originally committed to LSU last summer before switching to Auburn.
The SEC needs new stars. Williams is one of your new stars.
