Will Kate Upton become Kate Verlander when she and JV get married or will she hyphenate? That’s about the only question left to ask Detroit’s unofficial first couple. BC tipster Sarah tells us Katie Pageviews and Justin Verlander were together again at the sixth annual Keep the Kids in the Game event at Comerica Park on Monday night (and “out and about in Birmingham on the 4th, looking clingy”).
Tigers’ slugger Miguel Cabrera hosted the kids’ event, which benefited children’s health and youth baseball. Miggy and his teammates welcomed fans for “exclusive access to the ballpark field and clubhouse, priceless auction items, private fireworks show, live entertainment and celebrate with members of the 2014 Detroit Tigers…”
Upton was there alongside Verlander to greet the crowd. We would love a head count on the number of fans who bull-rushed past guys like Drew Smyly and Austin Jackson to see Kate (and her BF). Look at how the statuesque future Mrs. Verlander towers over these guys in the Tigers clubhouse.
The Tigers remain in first place in the American League Central in spite of Verlander’s high WHIP (1.491) and terrible ERA+ (88) this season. He gets the ball against the Dodgers tonight at Comerica (7:08 p.m. ET on MLB Network).
Maybe some ring shopping over the all-star break will help JV turn things around. When JV is inevitably elected governor of Michigan in 2030, Upton will still be under 40 (and make a hell of a First Lady). Think she’ll still be this clingy?
