Rick Reilly retired as an ESPN columnist this week. In his final column that I won’t link to, Rickster says he’ll enjoy hanging out at home with his children on Father’s Day. One can assume that he’ll be dropping Nazi jokes on his kids this Sunday while the family sits down for a nice day of U.S. Open golf.
As you can see above, Rick couldn’t help himself from dropping a Nazi joke because Martin Kaymer is German. Oh, and Martin is -10 at Pinehurst, a course that was expected to be brutal.
Then, looking into the 1939 reference, we’re reminded that Germany steamrolled into Poland and would kill between 5,470,000 and 5,670,000 Poles, including nearly 3,000,000 Jews, from 1939-1945.
Joke material, right?
Rick, 56, will continue working on the TV side of ESPN.
