The Indianapolis 500 is just a little more than two weeks away (Sun. May 25 at noon on ABC)… Wait! Where are you going?
Look, we know that IndyCar racing doesn’t have the same allure as it once did for sports fans, but the Indy 500 is an impressive American sports spectacle. Between the pre-race scene and the race day traditions, there are plenty of reasons to watch the Indy 500 this year.
The small team of blue-and-white clad ladies roots for Hinchcliffe to win races, such as this Saturday’s inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis (3:30 p.m. EST). The Indy Grand Prix will force drivers to race clockwise at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the first time ever. Drivers will have to negotiate the grand prix course at IMS just two weeks before returning to the counterclockwise flow of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
Meanwhile, the UFD girls will just have to figure out how not to break all the hearts in Indianapolis in the fortnight. They also may want to teach Hinchcliffe how to work a t-shirt cannon (see video below) just in case he wins something this year (see video above).
